KOKUMI in Munich

Never again. Our food was 45 minutes late, it arrived 2h after we ordered, our 2 year old was desperate. Supposedly because my husband didn't share right away that it was supposed to be delivered (not true). Our food arrived ice cold, some items were missing (costs were refunded after complaint for these 2 items). Every time we asked for an update on delivery we were told the driver was 5 mins away (not true either). We were told food is supposed to arrive cold when it's delivered (also not true, we received hot food from multiple other places). The food that we got still wasn't on point (avocado missing in some rolls), crispy rolls were soggy, which happens during a 45 mins drive that's supposed to take 7 minutes. 2 stars because a third of our 100€ food order was ok and the lady on the phone was nice while telling me lies.

The restaurant looks very nice, but unfortunately the sushi were way too big and hardly possible to eat. In addition, the waitresses were very unfriendly and while we were eating we were told that the next guests were coming soon for our table. Constant reference to the clock took place ... very uncomfortable ..

Good Asian restaurant, but we had to wait a long time until we got the menu on our own. In general, the service was unfortunately not very good and you were hardly noticed as a customer. Felt like you should leave the place as soon as possible. Another thing is that you CANNOT pay by card, which is actually standard today. However, you are offered that you can pay with a QR code via PayPal.

Very good sushi. I like to go there with my family.

The food quality was better than average Japan style restaurant and the concept of the restaurant and the food style here were quite traditional but still fusion Japanese. The service was okay not convinced.. The price was not reasonable in comparison to the quality and authenticity.

The food is good. It's not Sushi by traditional Japanese standards at all and the portions are huge / American style (which you would have probably liked to hear from your waiter waiter *before* you order - not after). I don't think I've ever been in a non-US sushi place that would offer "boxing" of leftovers ? The atmosphere is not comfortable cozy or even minimalistic elegant (staying with the ? theme here) but rather "see and be seen". A big no no for me (and a reason not to come back) is the upselling (read "scamming") by the service: we order a bottle of grüner veltliner @30-ish€; when it's empty we're told that it was the last one but that they had a similar one. The similar one was ok in taste but priced almost 100€ a bottle, which we see when we get the cheque. Nope. Not good. A slight professionalism in Service would have be nice here and give us a head up of a 3x more expensive bottle ? Great way of making sure a guest does not recommend this place to others ?

The service staff is an absolute cheek. I've looked at it several times now and it's just got worse. We didn't make a reservation and were asked about and, as always, immediately left behind. Empty glasses and plates sit on the tables for hours, and even if tables are free the waitress is unwilling to make any effort to accommodate someone. The shop is really awesome, but it is IMPERATIVE to finally replace this service staff !!!!!

The service was absolutely disinterested and unfriendly from the first second, as mentioned several times here. She claimed that without a reservation we would have to wait forever for our food, although several tables were free and none came after us. Empty plates were simply left standing and the food was pressed into our hands and PLACED ON THE CHAIR instead of being placed on the table. It's a shame, because the store REALLY has potential with its good food and nice atmosphere. As a restaurateur, I think being able to assess the overall situation is a disappointment.

Sushi is absolutely fantastic here, unfortunately the service and the atmosphere not really harmonious. Better to order to take away.

Quite a big disappointment, unfortunately. The service was bad, the food can be taken from the kitchen regardless of the course and order / person. 4 people got a starter, 3 got theirs, the 4th person had to wait about 15 minutes. Meanwhile the other 3 starters at the table got cold. In the middle of it all came the main courses and were pounded on the table. The food wasn't bad, but there are much better places in Munich. The ambience leaves something to be desired. The price / performance ratio is not right here.

TO FLEE. 1 - Double check your bill / some sushi were more expensive than the price indicated on the menu (going from 8 € to 9.5 €) 2 - Deplorable welcome, waitress does not take care of you, very haughty 3 - Don't take spicy sushi! I like the spicy, but now I can't finish them! Out of the 6 sushi I could only eat 2 You could do better, good to post in his Instagram story but it stops there.

Info in advance: Food TOP! Unfortunately, I have to subtract two stars because, as already mentioned many times here, the operation or the service is an absolute disaster. At the next table, about an hour after the guests left, the drinks and empty plates were still on the table. It is almost impossible to reorder drinks or food as the waitress never comes back after serving and has not paid us any attention. I could go on for longer, but in my opinion the only solution to this problem is to replace the service staff - I don't think there is anything more to be done. Food and creativity of the dishes really 1 ++++ But the service ... amazing.

Me and my wife wanted something sweet to eat, we were told by the waitress that there was no table available, many tables were free and she also said that we only stayed 15-20 minutes no longer. Well then we decided to take the Mochis with us because we absolutely wanted to try them, and have to say that it was the biggest failure I have experienced Mochi not homemade tasted really bad and 3.50 per mochi to demand cheekiness. The waitress was also not attentive, really bad service!

Very, very delicious food freshly prepared, unfortunately my original choice was not in stock but the alternatives were also excellent. The sashimi was of the best quality. Great.

The food is very good and tasty, but the service is very poor. I have read it here a few times and can only confirm it. For me that is a criterion not to go any more.

So go ahead, the sushi is outstanding and simply delicious! Point deduction, there is unfortunately for the service that is not special this evening - unfortunately there was too little demand, or it was not even possible to pronounce it before the waitress had disappeared again. But as mentioned at the beginning it is painful because the food was mega!

It is difficult to explain to other people how great fried sushi tastes, especially in a Japanese restaurant. Just try it, you will not regret it. The whole version is also flambéed and really made with love, the service and the ambience are just great. I would love to come back with my wife.

5 stars for the quality of the food - the food is great! A star deduction for the whole package, as it is good, but not very good. We are satisfied and had a pleasant evening.

The food is amazing and the service was perfect, specially Mia, so kind and professional. Will come back for sure! Highly recommendable.

Best sushi

Good food but the service is subpar at best...

Food was partly declared as spicy, but still too spicy. In addition, it didn't matter whether someone had a main or starter, since everything was served at completely unclear times. It was important that you were dispatched quickly so as not to question the expensive price.

The food was amazing, very authentic, really delicious! Atmosphere is nice as well. The staff was friendly and helped us to pick. I had Miso soup as entree followed by 2x6 Maki Sushi. My friend had a main dish, Udon Noodles. We both were perfectly full after the meal. Unfortunately we didn't try any dessert, will do next time!

I put 3 stars. From the pros: + the food is delicious. + Beautiful presentation Of the minuses: - no parking at the restaurant. - The menu is cardboard without pictures, if you do not understand the names, then you will not understand anything. - They do not have sets, each sushi is paid separately. - They came to the opening, the cook accepted the order and confused what we ordered three times. - VERY EXPENSIVE! - There was no music - the restaurant is small. P.s. In general, the quality of the food and atmosphere does not justify its price! I do not advise!

I love this place, the plates are super nicely presented and the taste is so good!! I always come back here, because the quality is good and the fish is always fresh! I highly recommend this place :-)

Great food but not the best service.

The quantity and quality of the food is good. There are several dishes and all very tasty. But very expensive tho. The atmosphere is very cool and stylish. The service is the worst by far. Extremely slow and way too unprofessional.

is the best restaurant in town where you can hangout with friends in a good , classy atmosphere with the priceless and delicious sushi and Japanese food .... thx to the owner and her excellent crew everytime for the professional and obliging host ;-)

The food was delicious and innovative. The main dishes really beat my expectations as the place is more known for its fusion sushi. The decors were funky. It’s a must go for special food and wine lovers!!!

Great food, awful service and expensive. Waited 10 minutes to get a menu and even longer to get someone to take our order. Food was quick, so think it's a front of house issue with the waiters. If I ever feel like getting food here again, I'd just get take away to bypass the slow waiters.

Gyoza are among the best I ever had. The rest is ok, but not special. The quality of the fish is very good but everything is a bit overpriced for what you get.

We were looking forward to a nice evening. Reviews and the menu were promising for Kokumi. When we arrived, the restaurant was mainly empty. There was a chef behind the bar, who barely acknowledged us. No friendly smile or greeting. After a few minutes of waiting, a waiter allowed us to sit down at a table. Again, no friendly gesture and total lack of interest in his new guests. After another ten minutes of waiting without a menu, we switched plans and headed over to Trattoria Seitz. Very friendly reception, although the restaurant was quite busy. Impeccable service and tasty food - just Italian... We had a wonderful evening and quickly forgot about our not so memorable experience at Kokumi.

Great place for Japanese cuisine.

I loved the starters, especially the spicy sushi. This was the first time I tried the spicy tuna sushi, they were just amazing!!!

I really loved this place. The decorations and space were nice. The sushi was one of the best I’ve ever tried.

Being here twice now I can definitely recommend the place. Sushi is just fabulous and fresh. The place has a very cozy vibe and really great for dates or meeting friends. Decor modern and staff nice. I would recommend booking ahead for a reservation. I can highly recommend the Mermaid fusion role.My only complain is the connection of the cutleries. Today tea was served in a chipped cup to me that’s a but unhygienic. Prices are moderate.

Very high quality ingredients and beautiful presentation! The crew is kind and professional.

Monday business lunch was more like fitness lunch for supermodels. Small soup, small portion of rice with leaf salad and 3 small pieces of beef. Tofo in soup tasted old everything else was fine.

Best Sushi in Town!

A nice atmosphere for an evening out with someone special. I got a 'spicy' roll variety (and I like spicy!) but woaahhh I couldn't even eat it. There was all spice, no flavor. Otherwise, the portions are rather small for the price, but the quality was very good. Not sure I would go here again, but it's worth a try if you are tempted
